MRU Instruments has submitted to the EPA for their flow and gas quality meters to be considered as an AMP (Alternative Method Protocol) for GC (Gas Chromatography) requirements set by the Biogas Regulatory Reform Rule from the EPA. While the EPA has no released timetables for approval on AMP submissions, provisional approval will be granted to sites using the SWG100 as an AMP GC until the EPA issues their final decision. MRU has reported that consultants have seen no red flags with the submission to put them at risk of being denied. This includes the use of analyzers for RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) gas analysis and biogas analysis.

This AMP submission allows worksites to bypass costly renovations and installations for full GC equipment to be installed for new EPA reporting. Whether one is exploring capillary column, packed column, or headspace style GC systems, there are plenty of costs associated with updating to meet these requirements. By opting to utilize the AMP solution with the MRU SWG100 one can save time, money, and a lot of anxiety with one’s current update plans.
