    Description

The Optris 640 R Top Down Glass Inspection System is built around a PI 640i infrared camera that monitors a glass pane's thermal data from above, with automatic scan line adjustment and glass area calculation. The PI 640i has 640 x 480 pixel resolution, a -20 to 900°C measurement range (with subranges), and a thermal sensitivity value of 40mK. Variable lens optics are available from 33° x 25° to 90° x 64° FOV. This thermal imager works in conjunction with the CT 5GL Pyrometer, which reads temperature changes from below the glass pane. This additional point of reference allows for automatic emissivity correction on low-e glasses.

Both the camera and pyrometer are equipped with a digitally controlled lens protection system (DCLP), to ensure maximum process safety. No cooling or excess air purging required to maintain functionality. Each system includes license-free access to PIX Connect Thermography Software, which allows in-depth analysis of thermal data, hands-free camera adjustments and testing.

Each camera is housed in an IP67 rated enclosure, with shock and vibration protections. A control cabinet integrates these components with a 10m cable set, industrial process interface setup, USB server Gigabit, remote trigger for manual shutter operation and Low-e switch, and power supply. Shipped fully assembled for easy retrofitting to glass tempering furnaces.

This unit is also compatible with the following Optris products:

    • DewesoftX: Data acquisition and signal processing software.
