Description
The Blancett QuikSert flow meter is an inline turbine flow meter that provides high accuracy and rigorous design in a wafer-style mounting configuration. It features a 316 stainless steel housing and rotor support, a CD4MCU stainless steel rotor, and an abrasion-resistant tungsten carbide rotor shaft and bearings. It provides an efficient and long service life and offers a cost-effective solution for your measurement requirements.
Simple in design and construction, the Blancett QuikSert flow meter utilizes modified upstream and downstream flow straighteners for a high degree of flow accuracy. The "between-the-flange" design eliminates the need for mating flanges, requiring less space in the flow line, lowering costs, and providing easy, one-person installation. The Blancett QuikSert flow meter has precision upstream and downstream flow straighteners to ensure a high degree of measurement accuracy.
Blancett QuikSert flow meters produce a sine-wave signal proportional to the volumetric flow rate. With optional Blancett electronics, the Blancett QuikSert flow meters provide local flow rate and volume totalization and will interface with most instruments, PLCs, and computers.
The Blancett QuikSert flow meter is also available as an explosion-proof model for use in hazardous locations. The following components must be ordered separately (as accessories) to complete the explosion-proof flow meter package: standard magnetic pick-up (part number B111109, -150 to +330°), B2800 explosion-proof meter mounted monitor, and explosion-proof meter mount kit. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Operating Principle
Fluid entering the meter first passes through an inlet flow straightener that reduces its turbulent flow pattern. Fluid then passes through the turbine, causing the turbine to rotate at a speed proportional to fluid velocity. As each turbine blade passes through the magnetic field generated by the meter's magnetic pick-up, an AC voltage pulse is generated. These pulses provide an output frequency that is proportional to volumetric flow.

This product can be used in the following applications:
Here's how some of our customers use this product...
Demineralized Water in Hazardous Area
The Background: Our customer is a manufacturer of high-capacity desalinization systems. They require a simple flow meter system to provide a linear 4-20mA signal for instant flow rate on demineralized water.
The Problem: The line runs through a classified area and therefore the meter system will require to be hazardous area rated.
The Solution: The Blancett QuikSert turbine flow meter is a great solution here as it can be ordered with an explosion-proof rating. Paired with the 4-20mA Blancett Intelligent Frequency Converter, this creates a low cost system that can meet the classified area requirements (assuming wiring is in accordance with local electrical codes).
