Description
The Honeywell MIDAS Pyrolyzer is required for the detection of Nitrogen trifluoride (NF3). The pyrolyzer design uses a proprietary catalyst to improve gas conversion efficiency, which along with automatic flow control and temperature control, gives fast and accurate performance while maintaining low cost of ownership due to a replaceable heater assembly with a lifespan of greater than two years.
The MIDAS is easy to set up and use. The MIDAS transmitter automatically detects the pyrolyzer module and provides the necessary power and signaling for the device. The pyrolyzer module option is installed under the transmitter. An air sample is drawn through the pyrolyzer and the target fluorinated compounds are converted into hydrogen fluoride (HF) gas by means of pyrolysis at a high temperature which is optimized for each gas family. The residual HF is then measured by the sensor cartridge and the concentration is calculated from this result. The pyrolyzer can be run from a MIDAS powered by either PoE or 24 VDC.
Because of the higher operating temperatures when using the pyrolyzer module, Honeywell strongly recommends that the ventilated MIDAS Top Cover (part number MIDAS-A-039) be used in all pyrolyzer applications. Additionally, the pyrolyzer requires a Freon end-of-line filter (P/N 1830-0027). The MIDAS transmitter and sensor cartridges are not included and must be purchased separately.
