Description
The COSA Xentaur XDT dew point transmitter is a compact, simple and reliable instrument that continually monitors air dryer performance, compressed air quality and dry gas moisture, from ambient dew point levels to as low as -148°F and up to 68°F.
The XDT transmitter features electronics that take full advantage of state-of-the-art microprocessor technology and offer advanced features. With optional dual alarms and analog and digital outputs, the Xentaur dew point transmitters can be used as indicators, alarm units or controllers.
The XDT's two optional alarm relays can be independently programmed to switch at any dew point with variable hysteresis, which makes the transmitter ideally suited as an energy-saving controller for desiccant dryers in "dew point demand" mode or safety cutoff in process control and high power laser. The status of the relays is shown on the display with flashing "HI" or "LO" indicators while displaying the dew point.
The COSA Xentaur XDT dew point transmitter's analog and digital outputs are isolated from the sensor. The analog current or voltage output can be programmed to span the full or a portion of the range and is linear to the selected engineering units. The COSA Xentaur XDT dew point transmitter has an RS-232 that interfaces into the serial port of any PC or Mac for a simple operation with any standard communications program.
The XDT uses a Xentaur HTF aluminum oxide sensor. Due to a hyper-thin film and a special activation process, these sensors offer significant performance advantages over all other aluminum oxide moisture sensors including better sensitivity, better repeatability, and faster response times. The measurement system is also less prone to noise and drift, and signal conditioning is kept to a minimum. Xentaur sensors are interchangeable, waterproof, and can be field calibrated anytime without the need for expensive and cumbersome calibration standards.
Additional features of the COSA Xentaur XDT dew point transmitter include a simple, menu-driven user interface; user-selectable engineering units; a pressure correct function; simple, automated field calibration; and an error indication system that can activate any of the alarm relays. Certificates for NIST and NPL traceability are available upon request.
