The Rosemount 802 Wireless Multi Channel Discrete I/O Transmitter is a versatile wireless transmitter with adaptable monitoring and controlling discrete signals for various application networks. The 802 integrates 8 discrete channels that can be individually configured as either an input or output, permitting the user to max and match discrete I/O in a single device. Input configured channels allows for interfacing with dry contact switches and detectors. The 802 continuously monitors the channels, capturing momentary signals as short as 10ms, and compiles state change counts between wireless transmissions. This ensures accurate and reliable data, with no missed events. Output configured channels provide direct control of low-power devices like relays and indicators. Each output channel is electrically isolated and rated for a maximum of 28V DC, 100mA.
The 802 transmits data signals through WirelessHART mesh technology operating in the 2.4GHz ISM band. The self-organizing network dynamically adjusts to overcome obstructions and interference. Advanced security features such as encryption, authentication, anti-jamming and key management protect data integrity. Power options for this unit include regulated 10-30V DC input power or a smart lithium battery module1 with up to 7 years of maintenance-free operation in standard use-cases. The power module can be easily replaced in the field without tools.
The IP66 and NEMA 4x rated aluminum enclosure and wide operating temperature range (-40 to +185°F), equips the 802 for harsh industrial environments. FM, CSA and IECEx approvals are available. This unit is built to integrate into most host systems using standard protocols such as: OPC, Modbus, TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, and EtherNet/IPTM. The flexible design features and secure wireless network make the 802 ideal for monitoring and control applications across a wide range of industries.
