The TSI Alnor 8371 AccuBalance air capture hood measures air volume flowing through registers, diffusers, grilles
or the air flow entering exhaust outlets. Weighing just seven and a half pounds, 8371 is easy to carry, lift and use.
Simply hold the AccuBalance up to a diffuser or grille and read direct supply or exhaust airflow on the large, backlit
digital display.
TSI Alnor 8371 AccuBalance air capture hoods have a range of 30 to 2,000 cfm with an accuracy of ±5% of reading ±5 cfm.
The capture hood is temperature-compensated to display a standard flow rate. The instrument can display the measured air
flow in four different units: standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), standard liters per second (Std l/s), standard
cubic meters per hour (Std m3/hr), and standard cubic meters per minute (Std m3/min). All readings may also be displayed
in actual flow conditions. Variable time constant modes minimize display variations for the 8371 when measuring
fluctuating flows. The K factor function provides the 8371 with flexibility for measuring a variety of diffusers.
The TSI Alnor 8371 AccuBalance air capture hood consists of a fabric hood, a molded plastic base which contains an
electronic meter, and a flow sensing manifold located within the base. Air flowing through the hood is measured by a
hotfilm sensor located in the central hub of the flow sensing manifold. The twenty-four pairs of flow sensing ports in
the manifold are strategically located so that the 8371 capture hood provides the highest degree of measurement accuracy,
even in non-uniform flow conditions.
TSI Alnor 8371 AccuBalance air capture hoods ship complete with base, battery holder, four C batteries, battery
compartment cover, carrying case, operation and service manual, NIST calibration certificate and 2' x 2' (610mm x 610mm)
hood and frame hardware.
