Here's how some of our customers use this product...
Inspecting and Repairing Large Fuel Tanks
The Background: Our customer is an oil refinery that needs gas detectors for use when inspecting and repairing fuel tanks at a tank farm.
The Problem: The monitors will be worn when inspecting and working on fuel tanks. The monitor must be able to protect against low oxygen level and combustible gases. The customer is most concerned with reliability, comfort and ease of use.
The Solution: We recommended the RKI Instruments GX-2009 confined space monitor which can monitor up to four gases and display values for LEL, O2, H2S, and CO simultaneously on a large LCD display. The customer especially likes the small size and simplicity of the monitor. The customer also trusts the RKI brand.
Personal Safety for Fire Inspectors
The Background: Our customer is a fire inspector who needs reliable gas detection when investigating the site of a fire to determine the cause.
The Problem: Some fires that need to be investigated occur in commercial or industrial facilities that may contain toxic or combustible gases unknown to the inspector. To ensure personal safety in such situations, the inspector requires an easy-to-use multi-gas detector that can be worn during investigations.
The Solution: We recommended the RKI Instruments GX-2009 confined space monitor which can monitor up to four gases and includes an intrinsically safe approval for Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D. The GX-2009 is small enough to be unobtrusive and the user-interface is designed for ease of use.
Personal Safety in a Chemical Plant
The Background: Our customer is a company manufactures industrial gases and requires personal gas detectors for their employees.
The Problem: With a number of toxic and combustible gases produced at their facility, our customer wants personal gas monitors as a safety measure for employees who work with those gases to protect against exposure from leaks or other accidents. The customer is most concerned with long battery life, form factor, and simplicity of use and maintenance.
The Solution: We recommended the RKI Instruments GX-2009 confined space monitor which can monitor up to four gases. The GX-2009 is the smallest and lightest 4-gas monitor on the market, measuring just 2.7 x 3 x 1 inches, and can run for up to 20 hours per charge. The GX-2009 is designed around RKI’s compact and proven sensors, utilizing catalytic combustion, electrochemical and galvanic sensor technologies. Each miniaturized sensor is manufactured with the same high quality control that has made RKI sensors and instruments the most reliable and long lasting monitoring devices in the industry.
