Implementing a Predictive Maintenance System
The Background: Our customer is a production facility which has many different types of machines and rotating equipment throughout the plant. They want to implement predictive maintenance systems to help keep the facility running at peak performance with minimal downtime.
The Problem: The maintenance staff is stretched thin trying to keep everything running efficiently. The expense and time it takes to implement most predictive maintenance systems has discouraged the plant from installing them. They are particularly concerned about their rotating equipment, however, and want to be able to monitor the health of this equipment with something more sophisticated than handheld devices.
The Solution: We recommended the Fluke 3561FC vibration monitoring system which constantly monitors asset vibration and temperature values and logs values. The 3561FC is ideal for rotating equipment as vibration is the first sign of wear. The 3561FC is very simple to set up and can by quickly installed on motors, pumps, and fans in minutes. Notifications can be set up and notify the correct personnel as soon as an alarm condition is detected. 3561FC sensors are sold in 4 packs and offer a fast, cost-effective way to monitor assets.
