Description
The Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-6 fixed-velocity thickness gauge is part of the ZX series of thickness gauges offering a performance solution built to withstand the roughest industry conditions. The features included in the ZX Series offer a quality tool that will meet or exceed your application requirements. The ZX-6 combines a standard pulse-echo flaw detection measurement mode with a multi-echo through-paint mode for use on materials with epoxy based coating, and eliminates the error from the coating without having to remove it. It is equipped with adjustible gain, as well as auto Time Dependent Gain in both measurement modes.
The ZX-6 can be powered using the standard USB-C to USB-A data cable (purchased separately) by connecting directly to a USB port on your computer, or using a standard cell phone power adapter directly to an outlet. This is a convenient way to power the gauge for specific bench top applications in a factory line environment.
The USB-C connector on the Dakota ZX-6 offers serial over USB using a CDC (Communications Data Class) and software wedge to transfer data into common text editors and spreadsheet software programs, as needed. The ZX-6 does not have any internal memory to store data, but is used to connect to external storage devices such as SPC data collectors and PC based software programs. We also offer a standard serial hardware option, as well as a wireless Bluetooth module that can be installed on the PC board of the ZX-6.
The 5-year limited warranty indicates how Dakota feels about the reliability and durability of the ZX Series gauges.
Applications for the Dakota Ultrasonics ZX-6 thickness gauge include:
- Corrosion & Pitting
- Tube & Pipe
- Tanks
- Boilers
- Glass
