The Waygate Technologies Mentor Visual iQ VideoProbe is available in three customized platform configurations to meet inspection needs across industries and applications. Working through access passages, the Visual iQ system delivers high-resolution images of internal details of turbine engines, airframes, automotive engines, piping, vessels, wind turbine gear boxes, underwater structures, etc.

Probes come with a tip head guard to protect the threads, which is highly recommended for use without an optical tip. If you use the probe without the head guard or an optical tip you will damage the threads, which is costly to repair. Optical tips are sold separately.

Mentor Visual iQ Inspect

The Inspect version is the base model with 16GB internal memory. It, like the other two models, features high resolution image quality, high intensity LED light engine, and advanced image processing for improved image brightness. All models come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, network drive mapping, and are InspectionWorks live-streaming ready. The Inspect only uses hard button and joystick interface and it's not compatible with the QuickChange probes, so the probe you choose is set, but you can change the tip.

Mentor Visual iQ Touch

By upgrading to the Touch version you gain a touch screen in addition to the hard buttons and joystick interface. This model works with the QuickChange probes and other custom probes like the LongSteer, UV, and 6.2mm working channel probe. The Touch includes double the internal memory and gives you access to the menu directed inspection software suite for image management and reporting.

Mentor Visual iQ Analyze

The Analyze model uses the same probes and interface as the Touch and takes the upgrades even further. In addition to the 32GB of internal memory and software you'll also automatically get the stereo, 3D phase, and 3D stereo measurement upgrades as well as the "Probability of Detection" upgrade, which includes:

High-Dynamic Range (HDR)
Adaptive Noise Reduction
Distortion Correction
Preset Image Transformations

All models of the Visual iQ come with a carrying case. You choose from the rolling carry-on version or the larger work station model that includes a pole mount handset holder and accessory storage pouch.

Antifreeze R&D - Engine Inspection

The Background: An antifreeze manufacturer needs a way to visually inspect and accurately measure engine wear and fatigue as part of a testing protocol for their products. These inspections would be performed throughout an accelerated life testing of engines while using a variety of the customer's products under a range of conditions.

The Problem: The ability to measure and record the physical condition of the engine is imperative to the customer’s Design of Experiment. This is due to the fact that disassembling and reassembling the engines for inspection would add unwanted variables to their results as well as significantly increase the time frame of the test.

The Solution: We recommended the GE Inspection Technologies Mentor Visual iQ VideoProbe for its precision in measurement, superior image quality, and probe flexibility; to ensure the data's validity. Also, the Mentor Visual iQ's quick change probes allow the customer to have both 4mm and 6.1mm inspection tube on hand making it easier to access hard to reach areas and allowing the utilization of GE's superior 3D phase measurement technology which requires the use of the 6.1mm tube.
