Liquid Flow Meters
Liquid flow meters are designed specifically to measure the volume or rate of water or other liquids flowing through a pipe or open channel. Nearly all flow meter measuring principles can be applied to liquid flow meters including electromagnetic, ultrasonic, turbine, variable area, vortex shedding, positive displacement, differential pressure, and coriolis. The type of meter that is best suited to a particular application depends on the nature of the liquid being measured and the specifics of the application. The viscosity of the liquid, the presence of suspended particles or bubbles, and its conductivity all help inform which meter is best as does whether the flow is through a pipe or an open channel, the amount of space for the installation, whether the installation is permanent or temporary, and other factors.
